Planitherm GlassAll of the timber windows and doors that you’ll find here at GBS Joinery incorporate Planitherm double glazing which offers the latest technology in its completely new generation of high performance, soft coat low E (emissivity) glass. With the inclusion of warm edge spacer bars and argon gas, GBS are able to reduce cold edge bridging on all of your casement, box sash or sliding sash windows.
Planitherm glass will ensure that your windows are more efficient in keeping your home warm & bright; in fact it has been proven to offer THREE TIMES more efficiency than standard double glazing. Thermal glass coating offers our customers the latest advancements, allowing them to reduce household costs by pushing them further towards the recommended energy saving status.
As Europe’s leading energy saving double glazed glass providers, Planitherm is one of the highest quality products available on the window market. By reflecting radiated heat back into the rooms in your home rather than letting it escape, your property will act as a much brighter and welcoming environment for you and your family to enjoy. Both stylish and efficient, Planitherm is able to capture the natural daylight and allow it to pass through the glass.
The Results?A more comfortable, lighter, brighter, warmer and more energy efficient home that saves you money on your monthly bills which are often costly, especially in the winter.
Thanks to Planitherm’s advanced thermal insulation, you get 3 times more efficient than single glazed windows. Not only that, these windows are at least 25% more efficient than most double glazed windows.
Free Solar Heat gain
PLANITHERM uses advanced coating technology to capture warmth from natural daylight to help heat the home.
The advanced coating reflects heat back into the room, meaning less energy is needed to heat the home to the desired temperature.
Optimal Energy Ratings
PLANITHERM brought together with virtually any window frame (including Timber and Accoya) will achieve a Window Energy Rating (WER) of B and an A+ is much easier to reach.
Haze & tint free windows
PLANITHERM maximises the amount of natural light into the home, without the haze or tint effects associated with some older double glazed windows.
PLANITHERM helps to virtually eliminate internal condensation and reduce draughts and cold spots in and around windows.

Factory painting of windows and doors by GBS uses a specialised industry developed and recognised microporous paint system designed specifically for timber windows and doors to provide long lasting protection against weathering and to resist cracking and flaking.
Maintenance and redecoration will be required throughout the life of the product at intervals of between 8 – 10 years for light colours, reduced to 5 – 8 years for dark colours depending on exposure and orientation.
It is advisable to wash down paintwork annually with a mild detergent and soft cloth to prevent the build up of dirt . Do not use any abrasive products.
When re coating use only microporous paints, do not use traditional oil based paints or paints that will seal the surface.
